ITINERARY OF: BEST 5 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO SAHARA DESERT

  • Day 1 : Marrakech - High Atlas - Telouat Kasbah - Ait Ben Haddou - Ounila Valley - Ouarzazate

    At 8.30 in the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech in a private 4×4 vehicle. We will then embark on a journey to Ouarzazate, passing through the magnificent High Atlas mountains. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to witness the breathtaking Tizi Ntichka port, which stands at an impressive altitude of 2,260 meters, making it the highest point in the country. We will indulge in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes from various viewpoints, and make several stops to capture the charm of the Berber villages through photographs. Continuing our adventure, we will take a scenic route that leads us to the enchanting Telouat Kasbah. After exploring the kasbah, you will have some free time to savor a delicious traditional meal in town. In the afternoon, our journey continues through the picturesque Ounila valley, where you will encounter small Berber villages nestled amidst the mountains, their adobe houses blending harmoniously with the surroundings. Eventually, we will reach the renowned fortified village, Ait Ben Haddou, home to the famous Kasbah. This architectural marvel was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 and has served as a backdrop for numerous renowned films, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara featuring Penélope Cruz, among others. Following our exploration of the kasbah, we will make our way to Ouarzazate, also known as "The gate of the desert." Here, we will enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel where we will be spending the night.

  • Day 2 : Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Merzouga Desert - Camel ride and night in the Berber tent

    Following breakfast, we will commence our journey towards the Draa Valley, where you will have the opportunity to witness one of Morocco's longest rivers. Throughout our route, we will make several stops to capture photographs and bask in the awe-inspiring vistas of the remarkable kasbahs and Berber villages that adorn the roadside, as well as the natural beauty of the Draa Valley itself. During this time, you will also have the chance to enjoy some free time for lunch in either Nkob or Alnif. After approximately two hours of driving, we will arrive at the magnificent Merzouga dunes, famously known as the "Desert of powdery sand dunes." At this point, we will switch our mode of transportation from motorized vehicles to animal traction, embarking on a journey deep into the heart of the desert. Upon reaching the camp, we will settle into traditional tents crafted from camel hair, reminiscent of those used by nomadic families. As night falls, a delicious dinner awaits us, followed by a peaceful night spent in the Berber tent, with the captivating beauty of the starry sky above.

  • Day 3 : Merzouga Desert - Nomads Families - Tisardmin Oasis - Khamlia Village - Erg Chebbi

    This is a day fully dedicated to experiencing the wonders of the desert. We begin with a memorable "Date with the sunrise" by waking up early in the middle of the desert to witness a truly breathtaking sunrise from the top of a dune near the camp. It is an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in this natural gift and admire the mesmerizing landscape. After the sunrise, we return to Merzouga on camelback, where a hearty breakfast awaits us. Our journey continues as we traverse the vast expanse of the Erg Chebbi, a magnificent sandy desert. Here, we encounter the imposing Big Dune of Morocco, soaring over 250 meters in height. We then follow a road that was once part of the famous "Paris - Dakar" rally, leading us towards the mountains that mark the boundary with Agelia. Along the way, we make a stop at the Tissardmin oasis, where fossil quarries can still be found, showcasing the area's rich history. We also have the opportunity to observe nomadic settlements and gain insights into their traditions and way of life. Our next stop takes us to a viewpoint that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Erg Chebbi. We then reach Kamilia Village, originally from Mali, where we take a moment to relax and enjoy a cup of tea while being treated to a captivating concert of Gnawa spiritual music. Afterwards, we transfer to your accommodation, allowing you a free afternoon to explore the town or venture to the dunes near the hotel to witness a mesmerizing sunset. A delicious dinner awaits you, followed by a restful night at the hotel.

  • Day 4 : Merzouga Desert - Rissani Market - Erfoud Fossil's - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

    After breakfast, we bid farewell to the desert and head towards Rissani, where we'll explore the vibrant marketplace (open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays). Our journey continues to Erfoud, offering the opportunity to visit fossilized marble factories. We then proceed to Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves. Within an hour, we reach the breathtaking Todra Gorges, renowned for its towering cliffs and favored by climbers. Enjoy a leisurely lunch amidst this magnificent setting. Take a short walk through the gorges to fully appreciate the picturesque landscape. In the afternoon, we continue our adventure to the Dades Valley, also known as the "figs valley." On the way, we'll make a stop at the intriguing "monkey legs" rock formation near Boumalne Dades. Conclude the day with dinner and a relaxing night at the Dades Gorges.

  • Dades Gorges - Roses Valley - Palm Groves of Skoura - High Atlas - Marrakech

    After breakfast we can enjoy one of the better views of the Dades valley from one strategic lookout in the mountains, from there we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. Then we continue by a road dot with different kasbahs of touristic interest. After some stops to enjoy the “One thousand kasbahs road”. the Roses Valley an the big Skoura palm grove we'll get to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, old residence of the Glaoui or Marrakech pasha. And if you are interested we can visit the cinema studios and tue cinema museum. Free time for lunch in town.In the afternoon we start our way back to Marrakech going through the mountain port of Tizi N'Tichka with some stops to take pictures. Here we leave back the moon landscape to reach another view full of colors. We'll get to Marrakech about 6pm, transfer to the hotel and end of our services.
