ITINERARY OF: BEST 3 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH DESERT AND BACK TO MARRAKECH

  • DAY 1: MARRAKECH – OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGES

    Starting your 3 days tour from desert and back to Marrakech , our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive you to the High Atlas Mountains. We will pass through Tizi N Tichka pass, the highest mountain pass in the North African region, located at 2260 meters (7400 feet) above sea level. There, we will make short stops to enjoy the scenery and photograph the camouflaged Berber villages between the mountains. Then continue our drive to visit the Kasbah of Ait-Ben Haddou, it was declared a world heritage site in 1987. This historic ksar (fortified village) is located in Morocco along the former caravan route that connected Marrakesh and the Sahara Desert. Thanks to its structure and location, a lot of famous movies and films had been filmed here, including Gladiator, Asterix and Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. After having lunch at the nearby restaurants, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Door of the Desert”. we will visit the kasbah of Taourirt, the largest kasbah in Morocco, and the cinema stadium, where the cinematographic art museum exists. Then, we will go via Skoura's palm grove to reach the Valley of the Roses. In Skoura's oasis, we will be able to enjoy around 700 palm trees and a large number of the kasbah and arrive at the Region of the Roses, a picturesque valley where the lovely Damask rose is cultivated. We'll next make our way to Dades Valley, where we'll spend the night.

  • DAY 2: DADES VALLEY – TODGHA GORGES – MERZOUGA DESERT

    After having breakfast at your riad, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views of the Dadès Valley. And this will be from a vantage point, you will see countless kasbahs and recognize how lovely each one is. In addition, we will see the geological formations known as "Monkey Fingers." Then drive to Todgha gorges, high mountains which are surrounded by a palm tree- and adobe-covered valley, it the place of people who likes climbing. Following our exploration of the Todgha Gorge, we will continue our journey into the desert. On the way, you will have a stop in Ljerf, known for its “Khattarat”, the underground irrigation system, with Your Sahara Tours guide you will learn about this groundwater mobilization system. In the late afternoon, we reach the majestic dunes of Erg-Chebbi. Here, you will ride your camel and cross the golden dunes. Before reaching our campground, you will enjoy a magnificent sunset on the top of the dunes. At the camp, after a delicious dinner, you will be entertained with Berber music under the stray sky, played by local nomads. Overnight in the camp.

  • DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT – RISSANI’S MARKET – ALNIF – N’KOB – OUARZAZATE- MARRAKECH

    Today, don’t forget to wake up early, so you will not miss the magical sunrise of the Sahara Desert. you will take a shower and breakfast and ride the camel back to Merzouga. Say goodbye to the desert and your camels, and drive to Rissani. This medieval town was the birthplace of Morocco's reigning dynasty and a stop for commerce caravans from Mali's Timbuktu. Then take the road to Alnif and Nkob, crossing the arid and mysterious desert landscapes, and drive through the Draa valley, the longest in all of Morocco as it travels through the country to reach Mauritania, we will stop multiple times along the river to take your shoots of this beautiful Valley before lunchtime in Ouarzazate. Once more on the highway, we will pass through the Atlas Mountains and Berber village. We will travel across the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass, which is the highest point in the nation at 2 260 meters. Throughout the journey, we will be treated to stunning scenery and will make numerous brief pauses to photograph the Berber communities that can be seen in between the curves.
